Gorgeous Lovely Art

I LOVE Valentines Day... I always have. Im getting excited about decorating and celebrating the sweet event. Time to also start thinking about gifts for our honeys. Ever heard of Coulson Macleod? If not....You have to check them out here.

They create gorgeous, hand made, personalized wall art printed on reclaimed and natural (wood, stone, fabric, etc.) materials. Their work is stunning. I love the frames and the raw beauty the art bestows. They create the unexpected with their ratios, rustic qualities, and the materiality.
Any of these would make a gorgeous gift to be cherished for ever after.

Go check them out on their blog too...and let me know which one is your fave!

While looking for a new, sturdier exterior front door for our home, I stumbled upon a company called Crestview Doors. They specialize in MCM, Craftsman, and Contemporary style doors. With over 50 styles and configurations you will find yourself with plenty of choices to make your home's curb appeal truly unique.

You can even change the transparency and energy efficiency of the glass used. Im so in love!

Not sure if one of these ultra modern doors will work on your home? Well you can preview your door on your home on their site! Just click here.

I cant wait to get "The Parkway"...which one is your favorite?

Bathroom Revamps

If you have ever visited my wonderful mid century modern home, you have witnessed the unique colors that are displayed in the tile and fixtures in both bathrooms... sulfer yellows and dessert rose. While appreciate the preservation of these bathrooms, I need my own style to shine through and bring a little "now" to these spaces. We have not really even discussed starting a renovation, however I need to start the process in my mind NOW, so that when we are ready to tackle on of these monsters, everything will be ready.

So Ive been doing some brainstorming on Pinterest and have found a few rooms that have inspired me to start researching fixtures and finishes. I want a space that of course has a modern flare, unique tile, clean and simple but still daring and different.

I LOVE how this mirror stretches the length of the small bathroom so that both Matt and I can see our selves even though only one can use the sink. Because lets face it... if you cant have 'his' and 'her' sinks.... the mirror is the next best thing!

For our bathroom, I am toying with the idea of just getting rid of the tub all together and in its place doing a walk in shower. Im loving the seamless flow of the floor tile right into the shower walls. Gorgeous use of color as well...so tranquil.

Or we could just build on and have this elaborate spa added on to our bedroom... no biggie: dreamin'

Im feelin blue...

...Tiffany Blue to be exact. I know I sound like a broken record...but Im back to my living room wall color once again. I have solved the enormous tv problem by using a warm teak vintage credenza to anchor that huge monstrosity. Next I moved my black bookshelf to the side of the Tv, which is close to the same height. Now I need some drama, some contrast, some Life! So Im thinking color... Im exploring a few different options but in this post Im sharing some great spaces adorned in Tiffany Blue Walls.

Keep in mind I have an entire window wall covered in a dark olive taupe, dark blue upholstery, Red womb chair, medium-warm case goods, and a oatmeal rug on a light parque floor. I think this tone of a blue would work great with the red and blue upholstery and provide the risky color Im flirting with. However....Thats a big commitment.
But I mean, c'mon... Look at these drool worthy spaces:

Just another new obsession...

Sources: here, here, here, here, and here.

As some of you know I love white vases. Not so much milk glass, and defiantly not the "fru fru" type.... just simple, modern vases. I've started a little collection (read more about that here) and love finding new pieces to add to it. (I just hit the jackpot this Christmas... My mom added 4 to my stash!) Well don't get me wrong because Im definitely not moving on from my vase addiction but I have found another obsession that Im happy to add to my list. I love owls + I love white ceramic...so it makes perfect since why I would want to own every last one of these :) Just Kidding Matt! No Im not a hoarder, but I just love each one of these adorable little "chotchkies" and don't see how Ill ever narrow down the selections. I guess thats where the thrill of the hunt comes in!
