we're moving!

Im soooo excited that everything is going so well on the purchase of our first home! Its a mid century modern beauty built in 1959 off of good old friendly ave. We love it. Ive always made my own "new address" cards for my many apartments....but Im thrilled to start the design for my first move into a house! Here are some drawings Im working on for the main graphic...its our house! (yeah, thats right...we have an orange door....isnt it perfect :) )

Logo Exploration

I have been workining on my new logo over the past few months...not working on it as hard as I should but hopefully Ill dig in a little more this week. These are a few of the designs Ive made so far. I think Im going to go with cooler colors this time to symbolize a fresh new start...

The Long Road Ahead...

First it was " Im in school...not just school, iarc." Then it was thesis. Next came an engagement & wedding planning. And now, now I have no excuse. ( Well I am buying a house...but no I refuse to let anything stop me!) Ive been wanting to really create a brand for myself as a designer that represents who I am, what I love, and what I want to share with others. Ive had websites, logos, even business cards and portfolios in the past...but none of them really satisfied me. Now that I have graduated I really want to capitalize on this opportunity Ive created for myself, being a designer. All those years in school are not just going to go to waste. Thankfully I have been blessed with a job in the design realm where I get to draw, create, and solve problems everyday. But I dont want to stop there. You know me, I love to stay ridiculously busy. There are so many projects I want to start but I know that it is so important to start out with a good, solid foundation. So, first I will soul search, developing my concept, brand, and logo. next comes the business plan ( which will probably not go so well since I hate that side of it!), followed very quickly by website design, build, and launch, then business cards and marketing.  Hopefully all of this is will be followed by many happy successful years as a freelance designer.
Yep...Its going to be a long road ahead. Stick around for the ride!
