The Long Forgotten Snow

Well, as I was saying last night, it finally snowed for the first time this winter in Greensboro. I awoke this morning to my room glowing with a light I knew could only come from that special way the sun reflects off a yard a freshly fallen snow.
When I pulled back the curtains from our floor to ceiling wall of windows in our living room, which over looks our wooded back yard, I was greeted by the sun shining through the trees and onto the glistening snow. Simply Beautiful.

Of course the drive way and roads were completely melted.

But the yards were still blanketed.

I love how snow piles up...its so crisp and soft. It makes everything so pretty and gives new perspectives.

The dogs were loving it too... even little Nora who is so small. I wish I could have stayed home and played with them in it today. But at least I captured this special winter's morning with a few photos.

Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let it Snow.

Its February 19. And tonight, for the first time this year (well winter period), we got snow! It has barely been cold enough for a coat. I really didnt think it was going to happen, but alas, it is actually coming down! Now if I didn't have to go to work tomorrow, this would just be perfect! :)

Mid Century Illustrations

I don't think it's any mystery that I LOVE love love Mid Century Modern Design. Recently, thanks to Pinterest, I have discovered some amazing renderings of fabulous MCM designs and interiors. I can not get enough of these works of art. Not only are they capturing the history and importance of this era but they are truly gems themselves. Gorgeous work. I need a book of these...I could seriously look at them all day. This design era amazes me. I love everything about it!

Please head over to Wanken to view more of these beautiful renderings.

Tough & Cold Industrial meets Soft & Warm Feminine!

When I spotted this image on Pinterest, it really grabbed my attention. Im not much of a pink girl, but Im all about some contrast. This interior, in itself, is very industrial, raw, and some what cold. Full of various wooden textures, as well as those of metallic, brick and concrete. However the added elements are not those that one might to expect to find in this type of interior.

Tones of Pink, soft fur, shiny lacquer, and sparkling crystals shine against the clean slate of this interior.

Gorgeous right?!

LOVE this Fridge...the pink looks perfect on this retro model.

domino, domino, wherefore art thou domino?

Don't we all miss domino, that perfectly wonderful magazine of decorating? I recently received the book from my sweet husband. If you don't have it, you really need it! I cant put it down! Tons of fascinating facts, ideas, and images too!
Well as if it doesn't get better than this, miraculously, domino announced on Tuesday that they will be coming out with domino quick fixes, hitting the stands on April 17th! i.can't.wait!

Sometimes you just have to do...

I love this quote...I needed to be reminded of this a few days ago so I created this inspirational graphic. I always have so many ideas, things I want to accomplish in life but always seem to be waiting. Waiting for perfect timing, circumstances, and money. Well, quite frankly, Im tired of waiting. Im ready to start doing. I know it won't happen over night, but Im getting started today! Ill fill ya in on more later!
Best Wishes!
